Turkish referndum sees “Yes” vote with 58% after half of the votes counted

The lead for the “Yes” vote in Turkey’s constitutional referendum has been reduced to 58% with nearly half of the votes counted.

The “No” vote is trailing at 42%, with opposition members claiming that the electoral board allowed fraudulent votes to be counted.

The electoral board had ruled hours before polls closed that ballots unstamped by electoral officials would be counted in the official tally, citing reports of failure by officials to stamp all ballots.
