Explosions at two St. Petersburg metro stations have killed at least 9 people, with an additional 47 injured, according to the Russian Health Ministry.
The twin bombings hit two metro stations in one of Russia’s largest cities, causing the shutdown of its entire metro system, as rescue workers rushed to the site.
There are reports that the explosions were caused by a bomb stowed inside of a briefcase, although the definitive method has not been determined.
The motive for the bombings is as yet unknown.
More to come.
