U.K. terror attack kills 5, injures 40 outside of British Parliament

A terror attack steps outside of Westminster Hall has killed 5 and injured at least 40. The attack, which happened at around 15:00 local time, is being treated as a terrorist attack by the British Government.

The attacker, unnamed by the government, drove a car into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before crashing into the railing. He then got out of the car and continued the attack with a knife.

The death toll includes a policeman stationed at Westminster Hall, and several French students in their mid-teens were injured in the attack, according to French officials.

The attack comes exactly a year after the March 22nd Brussels bombings, in which 32 civilians were killed in a metro station and the Brussels airport.

The attack has prompted a security increase in British offices around the world, including the lockdown of Westminster Hall.

More to come.
