As disagreements between EU nations and Turkey heat up over rallies for the upcoming Turkish referendum, Turkey has decided to stop some cooperation with NATO.
The move will stop NATO activities and collaboration with non-NATO members, which many see is a move against Austria. Not a member of the organization, Austria has been one of the most vocal countries in criticizing Turkey following the failed coup, and has called both for the end of Turkey’s accession talks and campaigning within the EU.
Turkey’s decision will also affect the rest of the 22 NATO partner states, including EU member Sweden.
