Johnson: The Gambia will rejoin the Commonwealth

UK Secretary Boris Johnson has announced that the Gambia will rejoin the Commonwealth, following President Yahya Jammeh’s exile from the country, and the election of Adama Barrow.

Jammeh pulled the country out of the Commonwealth in 2013, calling it a “new-colonial institution.”

The announcement comes during Johnson’s tour of Africa, and as Barrow begins reversing many of his predecessor’s decisions.
