Today in World History: January 12th

Henry III ruled over Nassau- Breda and was born on this day in 1483. He served as chamberlain for the Holy Roman Emperor and was one of the princes of the Holy Roman Empire that voted for Charles V to become emperor. Charles would eventually rule over the Netherlands, the Holy Roman Empire, Austria, and Spain. Henry III traveled to Spain many times in his life with his liege, although the locals never liked him much. He wed three times, and had two sons, although one only survived a few hours. Upon his death, his son took over, but he himself died soon after in 1544. Henry III died in 1538.
