Today in World History: January 4th

England declared war on Spain on this day in world history in 1762. The Anglo-Spanish War of 1762 lasted until the end of the 7 Years’ War in 1763. It resulted as a war between Great Britain and Portugal, and France and Spain. The war ended with Great Britain seizing Florida and Minorca, along with France ceding Louisiana to Spain as compensation. Spain also agreed to withdraw from Portugal and Brazil.
