Today in World History: November 29th

Pong, the world’s first successful video game, was released in 1972. Developed by Atari, who was for the next decade the world’s leading game developer, it was a massive hit. Pong popped up in stores and homes around the world, from the U.S. to Japan. Setting the precedent for the video game industry, Pong is still important culturally. The simple video game is still present today, in different genres and styles.
