Today in World History: November 22nd

The President of the United States during much of the Cold War, the President who promised to win the space race by the end of the 60s, was assassinated on this day in 1963. While on a tour in Dallas, Texas, a lone gunman, or so investigations have revealed, shot John F. Kennedy three times, fatally wounding the president. Lee Harvey Oswald, the sniper who killed him, was murdered himself by Jack Ruby before trials started. Kennedy’s wife, Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis, died of cancer in 1994.

Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.

-John F. Kennedy
